St Mark’s Blog gets 2000 visits!

Today, our blog received its 2000th visit!  Visitor numbers have climbed steadily, month by month since its start in November.  Comments to the blog have been more modest, the total presently at 72.

So why not have your say today.  Whether you are a pupil, parent, teacher or member of staff, governor, member of our local community or even a visitor, let us know what you want to see on the blog or join one of our discussions.  If your desired topic doesn’t fit into an existing discussion, post it anywhere and a new post can be written including your idea.(All comments are moderated before being published) We look forward to your involvement.

Books, books, books

Have you used your £1 World Book Day book token yet?  You can buy one of the special £1 books or use the token to get £1 off any book.  However you decide to spend the token, we hope you enjoy reading your new book.

Congratulations to children in Years 5 and 6 who have recorded two new informative podcasts.

Fairtrade Fortnight

We are half way through Fairtrade Fortnight when we think of where our food and other products come from and who produces them.  If they carry the Fairtrade symbol, we know that the farmers and producers are being treated fairly.   This week in our classes, we will be doing some activities and learning about fairtrade.  We will also have a special assembly on the subject.  Let us know:

• what you learn this week about fairtrade or activities you do in class;
• your ideas on how we can encourage or promote fairtrade in school;
• any interesting websites about fairtrade.
